Please help preserve a part of history…

The Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Lighthouse Memberships are another great way to help preserve one of Michigan’s historical treasures.

Grand Traverse Lighthouse would like your help to raise the needed funds to support the strategic plan developed by the GTLM planning committee in 2006. Since 2007 we have accomplished the following tasks:

  • Restoration of the lighthouse foundation and replacement of the septic system
  • Replacement of all lighthouse windows
  • Provide ADA entries into the Lighthouse Gift & Camp Store and Education Room
  • Provide educational programs, library materials and displays
  • Install a WebCam system at the South Fox Island Light and Grand Traverse Light to provide viewing for ADA
  • Expand the GTLM Endowment Fund that the Leelanau Township Foundation manages. (Interest income from the fund helps to pay for ongoing operation and maintenance of the lighthouse including the buildings and grounds, exhibits, and museum programs.)

For 2011 we hope to replace all the exterior doors and add high speed internet and wi-fi to the site, which will allow our webcams to be available on the website.

The total we are seeking is $15,000 for the 2011 projects. We ask you to contribute generously – your donation will be greatly appreciated and carefully spent.

When you donate you may indicate a specific purpose in the Note box,
otherwise it goes into a general account.
Examples are Operating Endowment Fund or Education Fund.
